reference electrode

This is significant as it moves us forward to a better understanding of how substances behave in different environments or conditions. This is a specially designed iccp system which we use to improve the quality of this measurement. A reference electrode is something that allows us to visualize the change in electric energy or potential between two points in a liquid or solution. This is extremely elegant for ensuring our measurements are robust.

Electrodes are sharp metal sticks (or rods) you put into a liquid to measure the electrical energy. But again we need a reference or standard from which to measure this energy correctly. This is where your reference electrode comes in. That it does by providing an anchor in order to measure correctly and consistently. Otherwise, we had no way of knowing whether or not our measurements were true.

Choosing the Right Reference Electrode for Your Application

The impressed current cathodic protection systems may be of silver/silver chloride type, or saturated calomel electrode. As different electrodes work better for different tasks and applications, it is essential to select the proper electrode for our specific job. Selecting the correct reference electrode can make a big difference in the quality of our measurements and what we think or predict based on these.

We also need calibration, we should clean their leads before using them and keep it in organized manner when it not in use. By protecting our reference electrodes lets us get an accurate and consistent readings each time that we take a measurement. Ignoring maintenance could give bad measurements and leading to wrong results.
